This hands-on activity is simple, fun, and suitable for all ages, lasting 10 to 25 minutes. Parents are encouraged to join and help their little ones craft these meaningful threads.

Rakhi, also known as Raksha Bandhan, is a traditional Indian festival that celebrates the special bond between siblings. During this festival, sisters tie a decorated thread (called a Rakhi) around their brothers' wrists as a symbol of love, protection, and care.

The Rakhi event will be held on Sunday, 18th August, at Veranda Indian Rouse Hill. The event will run from 12pm to 3pm. The event will be held in the outside seating area of Veranda Indian. The area is covered, but we recommend dressing according to the weather forecast to ensure you're comfortable.

3. Who can attend the event?

This event is open to all children in the community! It’s a great opportunity for kids to participate in a fun, creative activity while learning about the cultural significance of Rakhi.

4. What will kids be doing at the event?

Kids will be making their own Rakhis using colourful threads, guided by our team. The Rakhi-making activity will last between 10 to 25 minutes. We’ll provide all the materials and supervision, and parents are encouraged to join and help.

5. Is there a cost to attend the event?

No, this event is completely free!

6. Do I need to bring any materials?

No need to bring anything! We’ll provide all the threads and materials needed for making the Rakhis.

7. Can parents stay and watch?

Yes! Parents are welcome to stay and help supervise their children as they create their Rakhis. We encourage parents to join in the fun and learn more about the festival.
