A Shared Table: Veranda Indian Featured in Perspectives by Gayathri
At Veranda Indian, every meal begins with a story.
A story of where we come from, who we are, and the flavours that have shaped our lives.
So, when Perspectives by Gayathri reached out to feature us in their latest issue, we were truly honoured. It’s not every day that a publication takes the time to explore not just what’s on the plate — but the heart and heritage behind it.

“Bringing India’s Regional Stories to Sydney — Veranda Indian Kitchen & Bar”
“For us, food is more than sustenance. It’s storytelling — a way to connect, to preserve, and to pass on what makes India truly special.”
The feature beautifully captures our mission: to take guests on a journey through India’s lesser-known regional cuisines — the ones we grew up eating in our homes, not just in restaurants.
From the tangy street foods of Delhi to the comforting, slow-cooked dishes from Rajasthan, our menu is a love letter to the diversity of India — recreated here in Rouse Hill, using fresh, seasonal Australian produce.
“We wanted to build a space where Indians could reconnect with their roots, and locals could discover an India beyond curry.”
We’re grateful to Perspectives by Gayathri for recognising this story — for celebrating small, purpose-driven restaurants like ours that are trying to keep culinary heritage alive in a modern world.
If you’d like to understand why we do what we do — why we grind our own masalas, why we insist on homemade pickles, why we care so deeply about our food — this feature is a wonderful glimpse into our world.
A heartfelt thank you
To everyone who continues to support us — by dining with us, sharing your stories, and reminding us why we started this journey — thank you.
And to those discovering Veranda Indian for the first time:
Welcome to our Veranda. We can’t wait to share our story, one plate at a time.
With love,
Tavishi & Abhi
