Free Rakhi Making for Kids

Celebrate Raksha Bandhan at Veranda Indian

Throughout August | Complimentary for children dining with us

Some of our favourite childhood memories didn't happen at big events.

They happened around the dining table, making a Rakhi with whatever colourful thread we could find. It wasn't about making the perfect Rakhi. It was about spending time together, celebrating siblings, and carrying on a tradition that had been passed down through generations.

This August, we'd love to help your family create a little memory of your own.

Celebrate Raksha Bandhan with a handmade Rakhi

Throughout August, every child dining with us is invited to make their own Rakhi at the table.

We'll provide the colourful threads, decorative materials and a little guidance to help them get started. Whether they're making a Rakhi for a brother, sister, cousin or someone they love, every creation will be uniquely theirs.

There's no rush and no pressure. Just a small tradition to enjoy while sharing a meal together.

Why we're doing it

At Veranda Indian, we believe food has always been about more than what's on the plate.

It's about traditions, conversations and the little rituals that bring families together.

For many of us who grew up in India, Raksha Bandhan was one of those traditions. As more children grow up here in Australia, we hope this small activity gives families another opportunity to celebrate it together and create memories they'll carry with them long after the meal is over.

The best traditions aren't taught. They're experienced.
