Rakhi making Workshop for Kids

Rakhi-Making Workshop at Veranda Indian

Saturday, 3 August 2025 | 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
At our covered outdoor veranda | Free entry | No RSVP required

At Veranda Indian, we’re always looking for ways to honour the traditions we grew up with — and Rakhi is one that holds a special place in our hearts.

Join us this year for our annual Rakhi-Making Workshop — a relaxed, drop-in experience where kids can create their own Rakhis: colourful, handcrafted threads that symbolise love, protection, and the deep bond between siblings.

Whether you're introducing your children to this tradition for the first time or continuing a yearly ritual, this is a beautiful way to connect, create, and celebrate.

What to Expect

  • DIY Rakhi Station for kids

  • All materials provided — colourful threads, beads, and decorations

  • No bookings required — just drop in anytime between 3:30 PM and 5:30 PM

  • Each session takes around 10–25 minutes

  • Parental supervision appreciated, especially for younger kids

  • Our friendly team will be on hand to guide and help!

Come early, enjoy a cup of chai while the little ones create, and soak in the vibrant weekend buzz at our outdoor veranda.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Rakhi?
Rakhi (or Raksha Bandhan) is a beloved Indian festival that celebrates the special bond between siblings. A Rakhi is a handcrafted thread tied by a sister on her brother’s wrist — symbolising love, care, and lifelong protection.

Is this event only for siblings?
Not at all! While the tradition is sibling-focused, we believe love and protection are universal. Friends, cousins, chosen family — all are welcome to take part.

Is this event free?
Yes, 100% free. Just bring your creativity.

Do I need to RSVP or register?
No RSVP is required this year. Just pop in any time during the session.

Can I bring multiple kids or friends?
Yes! The more the merrier. We’ll have enough space and supplies for everyone to join the fun.

What if my child isn’t crafty?
Don’t worry — we’ll have team members there to help. The activity is simple, engaging, and meant for all skill levels.

Will there be seating or food?
Yes, our outdoor veranda is fully covered and welcoming. If you feel like extending your visit, our all-day dining menu will be available.

Why We Host This Event

We created this workshop to bring families together — just like the verandas we grew up around in India, where festivals weren’t just celebrated, they were shared. This is our way of keeping those memories alive, and passing them on to the next generation in joyful, hands-on ways.

We can’t wait to welcome you.

With love,
Tavishi & Abhi
Your hosts at Veranda Indian
